In our Institute
an Advisory Body comprising of teachers and students as constituted by the
institute, manages the affairs of two units of NSS. The agends of activities
is proposed and co-organised with Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
The NSS was started
in the Institute in the 1971-72 with the overall objective of motivating students
to do service to the community while going through the students. the primary
aim of the scheme is to enable the students to upgrade their personality while
service to the community is a means throgh which it is achieved. In this scheme
students get an opportunity to work with the people around the educational
campus creatively and constructively. They put their education to practical
use and to develop a sense of social responsibility. It also imbibes the dignity
of labour in them.

Regular NSS Programmes:
Under this programme
students undertake various activities in the adopted village, campus and urban
slums during week ends or after college hours.
2.
Special Camping Programmes:
Special camping
programmes under which camps of 10 days are organised in the adopted village
or urban slums during vacations with some specific project in hand, and with
the involvement of the local community.
At present the institute has two NSS units. The NSS volunteers run adult and children education centres in campus adopted villages and urban slum areas. The institute has its own work centre to provide traing to rural youths. In addition to the above the pther activities are to organise blood donation camps, declamation contests, painting competetions, tree plantations etc.
