NATIONAL CADET CORPS

The National Cadet Corps is a vibrant youth organisation which has made a commendable contribution in producing responsible and patriotic citizens of India. From a small beginning, today it has grown to the largest youth movement motivating and training the upcoming generations to render their meaningful contribution towards national integration and development.

The Institute has NCC Army Wing unit which has a sanctioned strength of 54 cadets. Enrolment to NCC is voluntary and is done on 'First Come First Served' basis. NCC Credo-Unity and Discipline is truly symbolic of the organisation and NCC cadets of the Institure, dedicated to this motto, participate in the various activities of NCC which are as under:

1. Basic Training:
The cadets are imparted basic training in drill, weapons, map reading, battle craft and field craft etc. alongwith the knowledge of Civil, Defense, general awareness, leadership qualities and hygiene and sanitation etc.

2. Adventurous Activities:
The cadets participate in Adventurous activities of NCC like para-sailing, mountaineering, rock climbing and hiking-trekking etc.

3. Social Service Activities:
Social Service Activities of NCC include blood donation tree plantation, literacy programmes, anti-dowry and eye donation pledge campaigns and sanitation drives.

4. NCC Camps:
It is compulsory for the cadet to undergo at least two Annual Training Camps of NCC each of about two weeks duration in a period of 3 years before being eligible for NCC Certificate Examinations. The aim of NCC camps is to subject the cadets to a particular level of physical and mental hardship for the over all development of their personality.

5. NCC Certificate:
Three years training of NCC in the College enables the cadets to obtain ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates of NCC after qualifying the respective examinations. These certificates are of immense help for the cadets in framing their future career. The cadets are also awarded NCC Service Certified by the college.

6. NCC Wall Magazine
:
The cadets also run an all magazine “The Cadet” through which various NCC activities are highlighted and constructive works of students are displayed.

7. Financial Assistance
NCC also offers financial assistance to meritorious and needy student in the form of Scholarship awarded by the Director General, NCC.
