Central Computing Facilities
NIT is well equipped with a Central Computer centre named as centre for Computing and Networking (CCN). The whole college has a campus wide networking backbone of fiber optical cable, through which all departments and offices are connected. The administration of this network is controlled through CCN. This centre is in addition to the separate computer centres of all departments. CCN is equipped with around 15 Alpha stations, Internet access, and large no. of PC's on the networking. centre is open for all students of the college. The purchase of Network Computers(NC) and many new servers is in progress. 2 MBPS Leased line access for Internet is available 24 Hours.
A committee of teaching faculty has been constituted to look after the administration of this CCN.
